Our health coaches and physical therapists work together to bring you the best care. Health coaching is a guided wellness partnership between a coach and a client. At our clinics our health coaches work with you to discover and open up areas of your life associated with wellness and life skills you would like to change. We work with you on your biometrics, reducing issues of stress & anxiety, weight management, chronic pain management, and support of chronic illnesses.

What to Expect with Health Coaching

For your health coaching sessions, you and your coach will meet through a virtual platform or by phone and decide the best route for your plan of care. Your coach will use motivational interviewing to help you develop bite sized goals to accomplish your wellness needs. We will correspond each month as you work on your health and wellness goal(s). Each time you meet with your coach, your goal(s) and progress will be reviewed and adjusted as needed.

How are Health Coaches a Positive Aspect to Your Health?

How does a healthier life look like to you? A Health Coach is a person who is there for you while being your guide during your wellness journey. Often times we as a society have so much on our plates, are in so many directions, and need guidance of a helping hand to figure out how to get started. Having someone who is working in your best interest and has time to talk with you, can help you narrow down your issues step by step and get you moving towards positive change. Your health coach is motivated to help you reach your health and wellness goals.

Why are Biometrics so Important to your Health and Way of Life?


How we feel and function as humans not only stems from the outside in, but rather the inside out.  Being mindful of what you eat, how much exercise you do on a daily basis, what you do to reduce stress, are things that can contribute to your biometrics.  A health coach can help you understand what your biometrics mean, guide you with making better choices, and leading a healthier lifestyle so your biometric numbers can start to become more positive.  With more positive biometrics such as cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, glucose/A1C, etc. There is a lower chance of health issues such as heart disease, diabetes, weight gain, stroke, and chronic diseases.

Chronic pain is a pain that occurs most days of the week and disrupts your daily life as well as your ability to perform daily life skills.  Much of the time medication is used to reduce chronic pain.  How can you feel better alongside or without having to take medication?  Here at Bedford Physical Therapy and Fitness we work together as a team to provide you with the best care with physical therapy, health coaching, and other wellness sessions.  As health coaches we partner with you to figure out what your best treatment plan will be based on your needs.   For example, you have started physical therapy or an exercise program and you are having mental setbacks with exercising because your mind is only concentrating on the pain you are currently having and not on how to solve the pain?  There may be other options you have not thought about that you can do alongside physical therapy that can help you lose that weight, reduce your stress, increase your movement/range of motion to help reduce your pain levels.  How do you get there to start feeling better?  Having that non judging accountability partner will be a great start to feeling better.

Stress & Anxiety Reduction with Lifestyle Changes

Stress and anxiety can stem from many different directions whether it be at home, in the workplace, or in the community.  Stress can interfere with the quality of your life.  Stress and anxiety can cause unnecessary weight gain, smoking, biometric issues, etc.  A health coach can work with you to find the route cause of your stress and move you forward to a happier healthier lifestyle.  By reducing and getting control of the stress in your life you may lower the possibility of acquiring other preventable health issues.  Your coach can work with you on various mindful techniques to help you reduce your stress and anxiety levels.
